Mists of Pandaria is Blizzard’s fourth expansion to their award-winning MMO, “World of Warcraft”, taking players to the new continent of Pandaria – a land heavily influenced by traditional Eastern architecture and design. Through the released concept art, you can see the Eastern influence permeating every facet of the game, even the characters. Though I do not play the game myself it is interesting how each expansion features such a wildly different art style, with Pandaria’s Eastern flair clashing heavily with the more traditional high fantasy settings of the original game, as well as some of the Gothic and Victorian era influences of the previous installments.
You can check out more art at the official launch site for Mists of Pandaria:

Every time I see a piece of art from Pandaria, I can’t help but think of “Kung Fu Panda” (I know I shouldn’t but it’s hard not to!).
Anyhoo, I really like this art; particularly the Pagodas against the waterfall. Wouldn’t mind living in one of those. =P
I think a lot of people see Kung Fu Panda when they look at this, so don’t worry, haha.
I really like the art direction though; it all looks so tranquil. And life in a mountainside pagoda would be so nice.
